Round Mountain Summit Trail
This trail is located on Highway 34 approximately halfway to Drake from Loveland (or approx 1/4 of the way from Loveland to Estes Park).
It is a 4.7 mile (one way) trail with an elevation gain of 2,679 feet.
This trail is Moderate to Strenuous.

North Fork Trail
This trail also is located off Highway 34, but it's quite a bit further along the highway. You have to take the northwest road into Drake (CR 43), then turn right on Dunraven Glade Rd and follow it to the end where the trailhead is.
It is 9.2 miles (one way) with an elevation gain of 2,924 feet.
This trail is Moderate.
This is my favorite trail because it runs along the north fork of the Thompson river, so there is access to water for dogs, and horses to drink (and cool off in!). There are also wild raspberries growing along some parts of the trail.

Foothills Trail/Old Kiln Trail
There are several trailheads to access this trail. You can park at Foothills Community Park (there is also a dog park and people park with playground here) by taking Broadway north (from Boulder) to Violet, west to 10th, north to Cherry, west to 7th and then north to the park.
You can also park on the trailhead on the south side of Lee Hill Drive just west of Broadway. Or you can park at the North trailhead on the east side Highway 36, just north of the Hwy 36/Broadway intersection.
This is a system of trails with loops and one ways with a total of about 5 miles. It connects to both Wonderland Lake trails to the south and the Boulder Valley Ranch & Mesa Reservoir trails to the northeast.
This is an EASY to Moderate trail system, depending on which routes you take.
